The Beginning...
A boy walked into high school not where to go. He found his friends standing by the pathway and he joined them. The teacher assigned the students to their respective classrooms. The boy walked into the classroom filled with unfamiliar faces. As he moves his eyes to the right side of the room he saw his previous classmates in grade school. After sitting down, a teacher arrived and rearranged their seats in alphabetical order. As he tries to be familiar with everyone's faces, a girl caught his attention. He didn't remember what she was wearing but the girl made a clear picture on the boy's mind. She has long, black hair and a white and flawless skin and a very pretty smile. It was recess time and he tried to get information about the girl by asking his friends about her. His friends told him that she was in a few episodes of a soap opera. After knowing this, the boy became more curious about the girl. After a few days, he made new friends and some of them says that they don't like the girl because she was overconfident. Because a majority of the people he asked didn't like her, he never thought of being friends with her.

Months passed and the boy started to go to school earlier during lunchtime to talk to this cute girl she likes. By coincidence, the girl who was said to be over confident was also eating lunch at the canteen because she lives in another town. Everytime he goes to the school he just listened to the stories the two girls tell each other even though he has no idea who they were talking about. After a few days, the boy found out that the girl broke up with someone in their classroom. He was curious and by asking a few questions to some people, he found out that the guy she just broke up with was his seatmate. He tried to dig information about the reason behind the break up but unfortunately, the guy didn't told him anything interesting. Because of this, the boy decided to ask the girl directly to gain information but what he did not know, he gained more than that.

An Everlasting Friendship…
A year passed by and they're on their sophomore year. In the first few weeks, the boy tried to catch up with his new classmates because he was now seperated from his old classmates including the girl. Trying to belong to his new classmates he didn't paid much attention to the girl that before took his attention. After succeeding in belonging to the class, he started going to school earlier at lunch to rekindle his friendship with the girl. They grew closer as they share ideas and sorts of things that they only share to few people. One day, he went beside her. She was holding her cellphone. He asked who is she texting. She said that its the guy he likes but her parents don't like him. She also talked about how she didn't like the way her parents treat her in a overprotective way. The boy became more attached to the girl as he saw the sensitive and vulnerable side of her. Before, he looks at her and he sees this girl that was confident and intimidating but now he sees her as a friend who needs someone to talk to. As time passes by, he saw her cry. He saw her laugh and giggle. Whether it was a story of sadness or happy memories, he listened to her with every word. He didn't know why but he felt like he must be there for her. He wants to protect her heart that was already breaking. He wants to protect her so that he could see her smile again without hurting.

When Cupid Hit His Heart…
It was December and the boy planned to tell her how he really feels for her this past few weeks while they are dancing in the Christmas Party. The Christmas Party started lively as the dance jams play. After a while, a love song was played and the both of them met at the dance floor. While they were dancing, the boy thought if it is the right time. He wondered how will she react if she knew. As he encouraged himself to tell her how he feels, a guy came to them and asked the girl to dance with him. Showing politeness, the boy let the guy dance with the girl. The boy went to the canteen to drink water. As he was on his way back, his favorite OPM song was played and he hurried to the gymnasium to dance with her. He looked straight to the girl's eyes. "Are you sure he's the one?" the boy asked the girl. "I don't know. Why?" She found the question strange. There was a short moment of silence as they look at each other. "Uhm... Don't be upset or anything, okay?" he sounded nervous. "I have this... feelings for you. I mean... i like you." He was shy. "We'll still be friends, right? Don't get weird on me." She said. "Of course. I thought you were the one that would feel weird about this." He felt relieved. "So... Since when?" She asked him. "I have no idea... Its just one time that we're fooling around and we exchanged i love you's... And then you smiled... It just feels different than before." He blushed. "Friends?" She asked him. "Friends." He smiled at her.

The First Misunderstanding...
After a few months, the interclass competition was near and he and his classmates decided to practice at the field. Unfortunately, some guys were playing at the field. The boy decided to talk to them because the teacher said it was their time to play. The boy was talking seriously but the guy he was talking to made funny faces as he talked which made him lose his temper. After a while, one of his classmates told him that they could play at the bigger field because the varsity players were already gone. "C'mon, let's go to the big field! No stupid people around!" He planned his words to offend the guy. but what he didn't know the other guys in the field took it the wrong way.

The next morning, news was all around the sophomores that somebody from the boy's class told the students in the 3rd section was stupid. The boy admitted that it was him and he explained that his words are only for the guy he was talking to. He didn't know if the students believe him but worse the girl was mad at him. At the end of the week, the boy decided to talk to the girl. He found her sitting at the study area. "Hey." he tried a friendly approach. The girl didn’t respond. She didn’t even look at the boy. “Look… If this is about me saying bad things about the 3rd section…” he didn’t finish his sentence. “How could you say something like that about them? I got really good friends over there.” She sounded disappointed. “I admit it. I said those words but I would never mean it like that. The only person that in was referring to was the guy I was talking to at the field that afternoon. Besides, I also got friends over there and you know that I would never say bad things about them.” After the conversation they reconciled and talked the way they used to be again.

Goodbye Is Not Forever…
School was almost over and instead of being happy, the boy was sad. “Isn’t it great that school is going to be over soon?” a friend asked the boy. “Yeah, its great.” The boy didn’t sound happy. “What’s the matter?” His friend asked him. “Don’t get me wrong. Vacation is great but I couldn’t be happier when she’s by my side. I mean school is just the only thing that keeps me with her. This is the only place where we could meet.” He said. He was right because after a few weeks during the vacation, the girls stopped sending text messages to the boy. The boy got worried because he might have done something wrong and decided to ask the girl’s friends about her. They said that they seldom receive text messages either. A few weeks before school, he found out that her cellphone use was limited due to some reasons.

Looking for the Missing Pieces…
Junior year started and the boy tried to focus on his studies. He soon found time to talk to the girl and they told each other what happened to both of them back at summer. “How’s your lovelife?” The girl asked the boy. “I don’t know. You tell me.” The boy joked. What he really meant was that the answer depends upon her because she is the one he loves. “I heard about you and this one girl.” She looked down at the floor. “No. You completely misunderstood it. We were just messing around. It’s nothing.” He explained. “Then, is it still me?” the girl looked at him. The boy looked at her by surprise. “Uhm…” He was about to say yes. “I was just kidding.” She smiled at him. “Right.” He looked down.

When Sweet Chocolates Get Bitter…
It was almost intramurals and the boy started to practice in cheerleading. He was always tired because of the practices and some quizzes are still going on and he needs to study. Because of being busy, the boy didn’t have much time to hangout with the girl which made him feel guilty. After the intramurals, the Acquaintance Party was the next event that the boy looks forward to because he imagined it would be like the Christmas Party last year. He sat in the bleachers next the girl and her friends during that night. The party started lively as usual and they all went down to the dancefloor. After a while, a love song was played and he went towards the girl. He asked her to dance. “Maybe later.” She replied quickly. He sat down at the side of the dancefloor as he watched her dance with a guy. As the guy left, another guy came up to him and she danced again. They finished dancing and the boy thought it was his turn already. When he was on his way to the girl, dance tunes started playing. He decided to leave the gymnasium first and drink water. He came back and love songs are playing again and he asked her to dance but she still said later. He sat back at the bleachers alone watching her dance with other guys. After a while, he went down the dancefloor. “Can you dance with me now?” He asked. “I already said that I’ll dance with you later. Stop bugging me.” He walked away with his heart crushed. He can feel his eyes getting filled with tears but he never let them fall. He sat again at the bleachers and he watched her dance. She seemed to be having a great time. He just wished that it was him that she was dancing with.

The Aftermath…
Weeks passed and the girl still doesn’t talk to him. He smiled at her once but she never seemed to notice him at all. He sought from his friends. One said that maybe she had fallen for the boy. Another said that maybe she just needs space. He found it impossible for her to be in love with him so maybe she just needs space. Months passed and he thought he should ask her himself. He saw her hanging out at the study area with her classmates. He decided to take the opportunity to talk to her. “What are you doing out here?” He asked her. “It’s PEHM time.” One of her friends replied. “Are you mad at me? He asked her. “No, I’m not.” She replied. “Why are you being like that? Have I done something wrong?” He asked her. “It’s not you, okay. It’s me.” She said. “Why?” He asked. “I feel uneasy with you being around.” Hearing her words made his mind more confused.

Roses Are Red and so is The Heart Between Our Names…
It was time again for Christmas Party and he wasn’t expecting much to happen. He had fun when the dance tunes are played. However, his happiness was broken when a love song was played and it reminded him of what happened last Acquaintance Party. He bought a rose and decided to take the risk to ask the girl to dance. “I’m nervous.” He told a friend. “You can do this.” The friend encouraged him. “If she refused, its okay. If she says yes, congratulations. If its for her, I’m willing to take the risk.” He talked to himself. He went down the dance floor and asked her to dance. She accepted the rose and they danced. He asked her of what’s really going on with her lately but he got the same answer. He tried to get more answer but the girl danced livelier than the love song way and it clearly means that she doesn’t wan to talk about it.

The Ending That Opens To More Roads
They started practicing the dances for their prom. Things were now a little friendlier between the boy and the girl. They greet each other now. They smile at each other but the boy’s mind is still wandering what’s really been in her mind. He planned something for her this valentine. It isn’t that expensive and luxurious but its what his heart told him to give her. “I’m not rich like your suitor and I’m not as handsome as your crushes but what I’m willing to give is my heart and my everything.”
